And squirrels, especially my visitor Sammy, have won me over. Although I’ve been taking pictures for years, I never had much interest in presenting them publicly. But with Sammy, that’s changed.
In January 2024, I saw the little, bright red squirrel for the first time on my balcony and immediately looked for nuts and seeds for her. Soon she had integrated me into her daily routine as a reliable food source. Since then, my camera, a Sony Alpha 7M3, has been at the ready on the table.
Observing and documenting Sammy’s life and behavior over the year made taking pictures even more enjoyable. I experienced two pregnancies, saw when nuts were buried and then dug up again, and that even squirrels need to take a break sometimes.
In addition to Sammy and other local squirrels, I mainly take pictures of nature or while traveling. Over time, these pictures will likely find their way here too.
Apart from photography, I work as an embedded software developer and study electrical engineering as a hobby. More about that can be found here.
